Dr. Malloy is a friend and fellow church member and the mentor and doctor to my daughter who is also an Ob/Gyn. I know him to be a generous, honest, ethical person and physician who has served this community for decades. He has had an exemplary career and deserves to be granted a bond while his case is appealed. Dr. Malloy is a special human being. Not only is he an exceptional Physician, he is committed to his family and the community. His commitment to his family extends way beyond the immediate family. I am a retired Deputy Chief of Police and Chief of Detectives with the Metropolitan Police in Washington DC. Dr. Malloy and I were classmates at Howard University and members of the Track and Fields team together. My law enforcement experience and friendship leads me to believe that Dr. Malloy would not be a flight risk if granted bond pending the outcome of his appeal. He has strong community ties and a long established family unit. I will opine these facts are a sufficient deterrent in weighing any potential flight risk.
