Dr. Tyrone C. Malloy M.D.

As Chief Executive Officer, Medical Director, and Principal Director for the Soapstone Center for Clinical Research, Dr. Tyrone Malloy leverages extensive experience in obstetrics and gynecology as well as in institutional leadership, and has conducted a successful private practice at Metropolitan Atlanta OB/GYN in Decatur, Georgia, for more than 30 years, where he provides medical and surgical women's health care. Dr. Tyrone Malloy also serves as CEO and Medical Director at the Atlanta Center for Women's Choice and as Medical Director of the Feminist Women's Health Center. Dr. Tyrone Malloy earned his Bachelor of Arts in Biology from New York University and his Doctor of Medicine from The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine He completed a rotating internship as well as an obstetrical and gynecological residency at 

Walter Reed Army Medical Center, where he served as Chief Resident during his final year. He holds board certification as an obstetrician and gynecologist and has received medical licenses in five states. In addition, Dr. Malloy earned a Juris Doctor from Georgia State University School of Law. During his many years in practice, Dr. Tyrone Malloy has assumed numerous leadership positions at medical centers throughout Georgia. For two years, he led DeKalb Medical Center at Hillandale. a 100-bed hospital that Dr. Malloy led to prominence as a financially strong community institution. He joined the

institution as Secretary and Treasurer of the Medical Staff and quickly rose through the ranks, achieving the title of Vice Chief and ultimately Chief of Medical Staff. A highly respected medical educator. Dr. Tyrone Malloy has served on the Gynecology and Obstetrics faculty of Emory University School of Medicine for more than a decade. He mentors student nurses as a preceptor for the Georgia State University School of Medicine. Additionally, he has conducted extensive research of his own and explored such topics as dysmenorrhea (pain with menstruation), gynecological infections, breast disease, and family planning.
